McLaren has a new ultimate series car model and it's a hybrid monster. Limited production, 1000bhp, ~2M GBP pricetag and 250+ MPH top speed. Gotta love near-budgetless engineering. I know many of you car heads will see another hybrid hypercar when you look at this cars design (Koenigsegg-ahem); I'm hoping is one of the bigger car shows will feature both the Speedtail and the Regera up against one another once the Speedtail hits the street.

Current Events: Radical new BMW i8 hybrid sports car driven (Autocar)

Steve has a go in BMW's all new i8 hybrid. I was able to see one of these things up close and in the flesh this past weekend at Bimmerfest East and I must say it's pretty damn cool. It also has great sound track for merely having three cylinders.

The crew at Auto Express give us a look at a car not see much outside of concept showings at international auto shows. The Volkswagen XL1 is the ultra fuel efficient brain child of Dr. Ferdinand Piech, with a estimated 313mpg. This car is actually going to make it to production, albeit a very small production count, each at an entry price around $100k.
