Car Pron: 2011 RUF RT 12 R (Option Auto)

OptionAuto is at it again, testing out the RUF RT12R. Here's a rundown on what we're looking at: 2011 RUF RT12R built on the Porsche 997 Mk2 Chassis, which debuted this past March at the Geneva International Motorshow. 3.8 litre flat-6 biturbo with 730bhp (@7000 rpm) and 693tq (@3500rpm). 0-62mph comes in 3.4 seconds and 0-120mph passes in 9.5. What's most impressive about this Ruf model is that it can hit a top speed of approximately 229 mph with primarily the same shape of a stock Carrera. There is substantial aero on this model, as you get a glimpse of in the video, but downforce works against top end rather than help it along. This Ruf model retains the all wheel drive of the 911 turbo and only comes with a six speed manual. It weighs in at just under 3300lbs.
