Mexico was full of optimism, dejection, failure, tire graining, success and gratitude. Ricciardo took pole over Verstappen by a few hundredths, but in the race his car gave up on him with about 15 laps to go, smoke out the back. How Verstappen has all the Renault power-unit reliability luck on his side is unknown, but he does. 8 DNFs for Ricciardo this year and there are two races to go. The only driver with worse luck is Alonso, who DNF'd for another race, on his farewell tour, after some debris flying off Ocon's car during mid-field action on lap one lead to damage that eventually forced retirement. Mercedes seems to be reeling in the last two races, tire management falling off quite harshly which has put them at disadvantage behind Ferrari and Red Bull. Ferrari and Merc were looking at Red Bull rear wings as Mexico's altitude makes it more aero-focused than power-focused, bringing Verstappen victory for a second year in a row. Raikkonen had another solid outing, taking third on the podium after Bottas' tires fell off a cliff late in the race when a one stop didn't seem to be possible for the Silver Arrows. Perez, fighting for a solid one stop points finish DNF'd after his car let go heading into the last 1/3rd of the race, disappointingly in front of his home crowd. Vettel, finished second after a great drive following a less than ideal Q3, close to keeping the Driver's Championship delayed for another race -- but in the end he was a class act and congratulated Hams on the accomplishment. Brazil is another technical track that does reward power so we'll see if Merc tightens things up with upgrades or if Ferrari and Red Bull continue shine late. Three way manufacturer battles definitely make things more interesting; 2019 should be a great year for racing fans if the Honda power unit proves as effective as Helmut Marco believes it will be.

Enjoy your weekends.
