Solid weekend ahead folks; sunny weather here in the Mid-Atlantic, IndyCar street race in Canada and F1 returns to Germany. I won't spend a ton of time here on the recap, but what a race at Silverstone. Last year we saw tires exploding, but this year we saw Hams taking the checkered flag, starting from 10th after a disastrous qualifying misjudgment, after Nico Rosberg got his first taste of reliability issues with the Petronas Mercedes chassis. The armor of the Mercedes has seen its share of chinks in the last few races and with the smoke cleared in the final half of the season Hamilton is now 4 points behind in the Drivers championship instead of about 30. In other news Bottas is looking pretty legit in that Williams chassis, taking second place. Ol' Ricciardo shows he's as scrappy as ever, looking like 2013's Alonso in some ways; car that's not as good, but pretty good and drivin' the damn wheels off it to finish as best as possible...consistently. Ricciardo is third in the championship thus far and Alonso finished 3rd in 2013. Kimi Raikkonen got in a terrible accident that collected Massa, but he only injured his ankle despite the spectacular collision into the wall after destroying the rear end on a walkway.

Germany should be fantastic. The pressure is as high as ever and the Hockenheimring is ready for action. See y'all next week.
