Targa Newfoundland is exactly what it sounds like; a monumental road rally across Newfoundland, Canada (pic below). And there are not one, but two F1 replays this week. First, the German GP from the Ring', and second the GP of Hungary. Top Gear US is back for a new season this upcoming Tuesday on History Channel. Lastly, the guys from Wheeler Dealers flip a VW bus on Wednesday night. Enjoy the weekend all, and watch out for that cold front coming through next week.

Motorsport Series: The origin of turbo engines in Formula 1

F1 is form of motorsport where technology envelope is pushed constantly. From aerodynamics to weight reduction to power output, evolution is almost a synonym for Formula 1, and over the years the specs have changed dramatically. While forced induction was allowed as early as 1966, in the late 70's turbos were refined to the point of viability in these karts of yesteryear, but before induction was banned in favor of natural displacement in 1989, some serious track monsters were produced and tamed by the legends of the sport.

Please note these videos are about an hour each. Enjoy.
