The Autoblog crew from the Netherlands takes a look at the first of many plug-in hybrid super-economy models from VW. The Volkswagen Golf GTE is on this week's menu; hybrid drivetrain utilizing an 84kW electric motor, a 1.4L TSI and sporty appointments make this a fun daily benefiting from all electric drive, for up to 31 miles, and all the space you'd expect from a Golf.

Car Pron: Ferrari 458 Spider: Is This Awesome V8 The Last Of Its Kind? (XCAR)

Our friends at XCAR look at the Ferrari 458 Spyder and talk a bit of its lineage, going back to the mid-engined V6 Ferrari Dino. Naturally aspirated engines are going away in supercars, so hopefully this won't be the last. In the name of fuel consumption and emissions though, it's hard to say.
