Busy and short week again, but Max is on a roll. Merc held on to the other two podium spots and took fastest lap late, but going back to the same track doesn't bode well unless they figured something out with race pace. Red Bull Leads in both championships for another week, Lando is strong again, Ferrari recovered a bit last weekend and made up ground on McLaren, Alonso is looking more and more comfortable in the Alpine and Ricciardo is still struggling for now. George and Pierre had some bad luck. This GP triple-header will wrap this weekend then we'll have a short break before heading to Silverstone.

Short week so watch the vid below to get caught up if you didn't watch the race. Red Bull did the old undercut double stop is better than your in the lead single stop race and have put Max and RBR further into their respective Championship leads. Bottas gets screwed out of a better result. Checo had a great race, so did Alonso and McLaren. Ferrari was no where to be found outside of street circuits. There are a lot of questions the Mercedes AMG strategists have to answer going into Red Bulls home race this weekend.

It's been a short week so here's a quicky. The French GP was kind of predictable. Hams took another win after taking pole, he just missed the fastest lap because Vettel was in no mans land in 5th and put on softs with two laps left. Verstappen had another strong drive, Gasly did pretty well in his home grand prix. Ricciardo got a little spicy out there with overtakes, got dinged for one of them but still finished in the top ten. Leclerc raced a strong race and almost nipped Bottas at the end for second place as Valteri was managing an issue. Norris had a great drive, even after a hydraulic problem almost ruined his entire race, but he still took points home. His teammate Sainz stayed ahead of him the entire race despite Norris being legitimately held up for a period of time (tire management and all). So another Merc 1-2 in the books, the French fans gave Leclerc a hearty applause and Ferrari is still scratching their heads on pace as they apparently figured a few things out with their front wing upgrade. Haas looked no better than Williams in France, they have work to do -- Grosjean had to retire in his home GP. We're back in Austria, which is a technical track that rewards aero, but still requires power; hopefully Ferrari can bring something to the table and Red Bull can finally bring a result in a home race. Merc is concerned with some reliability concerns with their latest powerplant revision, there may be a chance for someone to get within striking distance of breaking their GP win streak this season.

We have back to back to back races with the second leg being Austria this weekend. Red Bull has decided to go with Honda power in 2019 and 2020 so this will be the last year running Renault. While they're leaving Renault, it's a bet on the future as they won 4 manufacturers and drivers championships with the old N/A 3.0L V8 powerplants. Honda looks to be stronger with the next generation of power unit but time will tell if that actually pans out. Meanwhile Merc looks like it's in much better shape with the upgraded powerplant, Hams taking qualy and the race win in France without much competition, primarily because Valteri keeps having terrible fortune, this past weekend getting tagged and tire punctured by Vettel into turn 2. The French driver contingent had three on offer for the return to Circuit Paul Ricard, but Ocon and Gasley took each other out in the lap 1 melee that caught many folks out with damage. McLaren looked woeful again, but Alonso seemed more comfortable with that Le Mans win on his mantle. Bottas salvaged the day to gain points so they've stretched the Constructors lead ever so slightly. The Red Bull duo put out a great effort, helping the team and their drivers fortify their points. Grosjean missed out on the points in his home GP, rounding out the French driving contingent. Leclerc made Q3 for the first time and was competitive all weekend; apparently teams are taking notice of his skills. With the flag dropped the Drivers Championship standings are as follows: Hamilton, Vettel (-14), Ricciardo (-29), Bottas (-33), Raikkonen (-63), Verstappen (-78). Austria is another power track so we'll see if Merc still has the edge with their most recent upgrade and if Red Bull can finally make a good showing at their home track. Don't forget IMSA sportscar racing at historic Watkins Glen!

Say hello to a stacked weekend folks. We got V8 supercars, WRC (on some channel I don't even know if I get), Grand-Am endurance racing at Watkins Glen and F1 at Silverstone Circuit. Where we left off in F1 was Vettel showing his skill in the RB9 to try sticking it to Lewis and Alonzo in Canada; but they all ended up on the podium together. He pushed closer to qualifying laps than the field in order to maximize field separation rather than holding back for the sake of the tires. Pirelli brought a new compound out that wouldn't separate as badly when pushed to the limit, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference in the outcome. There weren't any tires falling apart in super slow-mo, but there were some other items of note. Massa crashed the car in qualifying again, but came from the back of the field to finish 8th. Vettel took pole and the win. Lewis did a great job snagging third given Webber was on the hunt. Lotus Renault had some bad luck with setup and didn't really compete that well. Jean-Eric Vergne took his Torro-Rosso Red Bull to 6th, surprising many behind him. Force India had another solid outing. Lastly, we're still waiting for McLaren to show us something other than the fact that Sergio wants to win more than Jenson. Current driver standings are Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen, Hamilton and Webber respectively. Given we're nearing the halfway point of the season it'll be interesting to see who figures out what's needed to keep Vettel from scoring bundles of championship points on Sunday.

There are scattered thunderstorms forecast over the next several days, but there will be sunshine mixed in there. Enjoy your weekends.
