Neo-Vintage: Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Morning Ritual (Petrolicious)

We love vintage sports cars and one of our favorite marks of yesteryear is Ferrari and the lovely, small-displacement, high-revving, sonorous V-12's that found their way into the engine bays of various hand built coupes and GT's five decades ago. This short film looks at the ownership experience of a very fortunate Ferrari 250 GT Lusso owner; there aren't many of these late 60's beauties out there anymore and he bought at the right time. Absorb the lesson here from James Chen on taking advantage of those future classics out there that are still very affordable. Carpe opportunitas.

Petrolicious brings us a look at the 911 RSR, and garage it resides in, of one Jack Olsen. For those of you not familiar with his story, he's dedicated himself to building the ultimate car and garage in which to perform any mechanical or engineering task that arises. Jack's plight, while its beginnings were much further along in life, is much like many of ours. It's always good to get reassurance on fulfillment of long-term car goals. I think you all know what I'm talking about.

Car Pron: Ben Thomas' B5 Wagon

B5 Audi A4 Avant's have been on my wish/to-do list since 98'. I enjoy their smooth yet chunky German styling, functionality and AWD performance potential. While the S4 variant of the B5 A4 was the top of line model in the US, Europe got the RS4. This model not only got more power, but widened arches all around, better running and stopping gear as well as a meaner exterior. Converting US S4 Avant's into RS4 replicas has always been a popular pastime here in the states, but taking the conversion a step further than 'RS4' is what Ben Thomas has done.

As much as newer VW's have generally turned me off as the years have passed along, I enjoy the older models even more so now. This vid does a pretty good job of explaining why. You can acquire a car for any number of reasons, but the less complicated it is to enjoy the more fun it is.

Motorsport Pron: TRG Racing finale

I was pleasantly surprised to see that TRG Racing put this video together after making it to my first ALMS event this past September. Fortunate enough to see their two GTC classed 911 cup cars compete at the BGP, this reminder of where The Racers Group outfit ended up at the end of this season, at the Petit Le Mans, makes me long for the 2012 season that much more. Until then...
